Hi everyone!
My name is Chris Woodward, the person behind the curtain. Normally i'm a software engineer dealing with data analytics, with a side hustle of messing with data analytics. Maybe i need to branch out more 🤔.
I've been in a fantasy football league for a few years now and really have gotten into the projection modeling and data visualization aspect of the game. I've tried all sorts of sites, followed their advice, and even got a few championship wins myself.
One thing I kept having issues with was trying to "convert" the multitude of projections and suggestions to work with my specific league. I'm sure like some of you, your league mates can have interesting patterns and decisions. So I was like, why not see about taking those into account with my own projection modeling?
And thus, League Read was born!
I know it's a very new projection model and hasn't had years and years to prove itself during live seasons. Luckily, with all the historical data is at our fingertips, I can get a pretty good head start! I've been training and training, tweaking weights, figuring out which stats actually are important, and which ones to throw away.
Not only that, I personally have decided that this is my own personal tool suite, so i'm starting off by making sure it has everything that I would need for a season. Along the way, i'm trying to accommodate other league rules and such, or other useful tools, but I may miss something. But that's where you come in! As you look around the site, use it's features, complain out loud about how it's slow or whatever, please send me a message with your thoughts. I can't build or fix something if I don't know about it.
So I hope that you can help me in making this site the best it can be, because I really want to win my league again.
Yours in stressing about points that don't matter,
Chris Woodward
