Syncing and troubleshooting

See when league data refreshes, what each sync choice does, and how to recover a connection that needs attention.

Automatic sync

Current activity refreshes overnight

Initial setup starts immediately, even while NFL games are in progress, so a new league is not held at the preparation screen. After setup, current league activity refreshes automatically once per game-safe overnight window. The current and previous scoring periods are reconciled so in-progress setup data and late provider corrections are brought current without repeatedly importing the entire season.

Historical seasons import during setup and do not repeat automatically. Use an explicit historical repair when an older season needs to be read again.

League status

Ready, syncing, and needs attention

Ready
The latest completed League Read copy can be used.
Syncing
A provider import or follow-up analysis is still running.
Needs attention
The saved provider access or an import failed and may need your action.

A retained error does not mean the provider is currently down. Check the current status and retry guidance before reconnecting.

Refresh choices

Use the smallest sync that solves the problem

Use a normal sync for current rosters, matchups, transactions, and other recent activity. It is the faster choice for an ordinary refresh.

Use Full sync + settings after intentionally changing provider scoring or roster settings, or when a complete current-season repair is needed. It takes longer because it rechecks the full season and refreshes the imported rule base.

Connection needed

Reconnect only the affected league

Open League → Settings when a saved token, key, or ESPN session is rejected. Reconnecting updates the private access for your account and that league; it does not replace another account’s connection to the same external league.

For private ESPN leagues, sign in to ESPN again in the linked browser and repeat the authenticated league connection. The extension account link remains in place unless it was revoked.

What a sync changes

Your provider league remains untouched

A League Read sync reads the provider and updates your private League Read copy. It does not edit rosters, lineups, waiver claims, trades, draft picks, or league settings on the fantasy provider.
